Sweetheart Neckline Wedding Dresses – 11 Wedding Dress Trends for 2011 (9 of 11)

The sweetheart shape neckline is sure to stay sweet as ever in 2011.  We’ve seen a lot of sweetheart styles the past few years, and the flattering cut is about to hit it’s height in 2011. The term sweetheart covers a range of styles. There are deep V sweetheart necklines that have the shape of the top of a heart, shallow rolling sweetheart necklines, as well as variations that can include straps or even sleeves. I’ve put a little creative energy around this trend to show you some ideas below.

Because of the shape of this neckline, it tends to lend itself well to a bow.  I especially love a crisp asymmetrical bow right in the center.

If you tend towards symmetrical styles then a bow right in the center is also a great look.  Especially with gathering that radiates from the center making the whole top of the dress imitate the direction of the bow.

For a more relaxed look, a soft chiffon bow and halter strap make a nice addition to this dress.

Another great addition to a sweetheart neckline are fabric flowers.  They are right on trend this year and their feminine look pairs great with the sweetheart neckline since it too has a very feminine, beautiful appeal.

If you want to keep the neckline clean, consider adding fabric flower straps.  Not only do they look beautiful, they can help hide bra straps if you need a little extra “lift” to make that sweetheart neckline look its best!
